Acoustic evening by The Real People, in which brothers Chris and Tony Griffiths rework the hits they have written and recorded over more than three decades.
The Real People are playing an acoustic set at Archive Liverpool on Saturday 31 October, starting at 7:30pm. It's billed as An Evening with Chris & Tony Griffiths, and as the title suggests, it's the two brothers taking the stage on their own rather than with the full band.
For those who know them, the Griffiths brothers have been at the heart of The Real People since the band started in Liverpool back in 1988. These acoustic evenings are a softer side of the act: Chris and Tony rework the hits they've written and recorded over more than three decades, stripping them back to their basics. It's a different way of hearing songs that might be more familiar in their full-band versions.
These stripped-back nights sit alongside the band's full-band gigs and festival appearances, so this is one of the quieter ways they're playing out these days. And they're still working: the duo continues to write, record and tour, so the set draws from a long run of material rather than just the early years. If you've followed them for a while, you'll recognise the songs; if you're coming to them for the first time, it's a good place to start, with the two of them at the centre of it.
