Immersive indoor picnic with cinematic sky projections, live cello, a DJ set, gourmet picnic baskets and themed cocktails in the North Hall of St George's Hall.
The Picnic Club is taking over the North Hall of St George's Hall on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February, with sittings at 5:00pm and 8:15pm each day. It's an indoor picnic that bills itself as the UK's first immersive experience of its kind, and the whole thing is built around the sky. While you're eating, the ceiling shifts through cinematic projections—dramatic thunderstorms, sunsets, star-filled nights, and a Northern Lights finale—each chapter with its own soundscape.
The music is a two-part thing: a live cello performance by Isobelle Austin, followed by an atmospheric live DJ set. You'll be dining beneath blossom trees and candlelight with a curated gourmet picnic basket and a cocktail menu inspired by each stage of the sky. There are a few ways to sit, too—floor cushions around low tables, upholstered pouffes, traditional tables and chairs, or the elevated Stargazer Gallery if you'd rather look down on the room. The whole evening is designed as a choreographed journey rather than a show you just watch.

The Picnic Club was created by Formby entrepreneur Tony Roberts, who says it came out of frustration with increasingly repetitive nights out. He's hoping it'll become an annual event, so this is one of the first runs. It's in the North Hall of St George's Hall, Saint George's Place, Liverpool L1 1JJ, and tickets start at ÂŁ69 per person, with premium experiences going up to ÂŁ109.
