The Grinch · Live Hosted Cinema

The Grinch is coming to the Hilton Liverpool City Centre on Sunday 20 December, and it's a bit more than just a screening. The main feature is the 2000 Jim Carrey version of The Grinch, but the whole thing is hosted by a live-action Grinch character in full costume. He's the one who leaps off the screen to welcome everyone, replicates scenes live on stage and around the room, and leads the interactive festive fun before and during the film. Once the credits roll, he stays on for meet-and-greet photo ops, so you'll get a chance to get close to the character after the movie.

The room is dressed in a Whoville style, with themed decor, soft lighting and Christmas cheer to set the scene. There's popcorn and festive treats on sale, and a licensed bar for the adults. It's designed for ages four and over with adult supervision, so it works as a family outing. The session runs from 14:00 to 16:30, with doors opening at 14:00 and the film starting around 14:45. Tickets are £20 per person, and under-twos go free, though they don't get a seat. The venue is the Hilton Liverpool City Centre at 3 Thomas Steers Way, L1 8LW.
