The Disney Afternoon Tea is at FunnyBoyz Liverpool on Friday 16 October, starting at 16:00. It's a Disney-themed afternoon that takes the venue's usual drag approach to childhood classics, with Disney-inspired drag, games, karaoke and plenty of audience interaction. The hosts describe it as having a good many moments 'Walt definitely didn't approve'.
If you're not familiar, FunnyBoyz is a drag-queen-led cabaret and tribute venue on Blundell Street. They build their nights around drag shows, bingo, silly games and tribute acts, with a wide range of themed nights and brunches — ABBA, Benidorm Bingo, Dirty Grease, VEGAS, Madonna and Lady Gaga tributes, drag karaoke and cabaret all fit the bill. The Disney Afternoon Tea is one of those themed sessions, and it follows the same format: drag, games and karaoke, with the Disney theme running through it all.
On the day, Linda Gold and the FunnyBoyz queens lead the way. Dressing up as a Disney character is very much encouraged — the more ridiculous, the better — and the afternoon is set up as a chilled-out day in the heart of the city, with guests mingling with the themed drag queens throughout. It's less of a seated show and more of a social one, so it works well if you're bringing a group.
