Free stand-up roast night where six comedians trade the darkest jokes and insults in front of three judges at Hot Water Comedy Club.
The Comedy Roast is back at Blackstock Market on Sunday 1 November, one of several dates Hot Water Comedy Club is running this autumn. It's their signature night, and the format is pretty straightforward: six comedians go head-to-head, trading the most brutal insults and darkest jokes they can come up with, with nothing off limits. Three judges pick a winner at the end.
It's not for the faint-hearted. Offensive jokes and dark themes are the norm here, so it's the kind of night where you're as likely to laugh at something terrible as you are at something clever. If that's your thing, it's exactly what you're after; if you're easily offended, you'll probably want to sit this one out.
The line-up for this one is Jordan Ducharme, Callum Oakley, Joe Birch, Dan Lythe, Calum Scouller, Matty Smart, Alex Murray and Jacob Kohn. That's eight names for six spots, so there's plenty of ammunition to go around. The whole thing is put on by Hot Water Comedy Club, based here in Liverpool and widely regarded as the UK's best comedy promoter, who run two award-winning, purpose-built comedy venues. The roast itself is staged at Blackstock Market, which is Liverpool's biggest food market.
