Six comedians trade savage insults and dark jokes in a roast format at Hot Water Comedy Club, with three judges picking a winner.
The Comedy Roast is at Blackstock Market on Sunday 13 December, put on by Hot Water Comedy Club. It's a roast in the truest sense: six comedians go head-to-head trading the most brutal insults and darkest jokes they can come up with, with nothing off limits. Three judges sit in on the night and pick a winner from the lot.
It's not for the faint-hearted. The show leans into offensive jokes and dark themes, and you should expect a raunchy, irreverent performance rather than a polite stand-up set. If you're not in the mood for things to get a bit savage, this probably isn't the one for you.
The line-up for the afternoon is Jordan Ducharme, Callum Oakley, Joe Birch, Dan Lythe, Calum Scouller, Matty Smart and Alex Murray. Hot Water Comedy is based here in Liverpool and is widely regarded as the UK's best comedy promoter, running two award-winning, purpose-built comedy venues in the city. Blackstock Market is the brand-new home of the club, and it's billed as Liverpool's biggest food market, with live music playing before and after the show.
