Savage stand-up roast night with six comedians trading insults and dark jokes, judged by three people, at Hot Water Comedy Club.
The Comedy Roast is back at Hot Water Comedy Club in Blackstock Market on Sunday 1 November, and it's not your usual stand-up night. The whole thing is built around a roast: comedians face off, trading the most brutal insults and the darkest jokes they can come up with, with nothing off limits. Six acts go head-to-head each night, and three judges decide on a winner. It's a competitive setup, so the sets aren't just about getting laughs — they're about landing the hardest blow.
It's pitched at audiences who like their comedy closer to the knuckle, with offensive jokes, dark themes and unapologetic humour. If you're used to the more polished, safe end of the circuit, this is the other side of it. The whole thing is run by Hot Water Comedy, based here in Liverpool and widely regarded as the UK's best comedy promoter, which operates two award-winning, purpose-built comedy venues in the city.
