Competitive 90-minute baking class for two, with a new monthly theme, at The Big Liverpool Bake on Old Hall Street.
The Big Bakes is running its baking experience for two at 60 Old Hall Street in Liverpool, and it's open all year round, so you can book it for tomorrow, Friday 30 October, or whenever you've got a free slot. It's billed as the city's award-winning bake-off, and the best part is that you don't need any experience to get started.
Here's how it works: you and a partner get 90 minutes to bake and decorate, with a Head Baker on hand to guide you through it. There are twelve bake stations in the room, and everything you need is provided on the spot. They even do the washing up, which is usually the worst part of baking at home. A new theme is set every month, so if you go back, you'll be working with something different each time. The best pair of the session is crowned the winner, so there's a bit of competition in the mix.
It's pitched as a fun, competitive outing for hen parties, date nights, and family days, but it works just as well for a random afternoon with a mate. Most bookings also come with a digital Big Bakes Mini Recipe e-Book to take home. If you're looking for something bigger, they do private packages for larger groups, including corporate events, staff parties, product launches, and full site hire, with exclusive bake options and food and drink packages to add on.

Sessions run 90 minutes, with start times across Monday to Sunday — and Bank Holidays — including 10:00, 12:30, 15:00, 17:45, 20:00 and 22:00, so you can fit it in whenever suits you best. It's £159.90 for the experience for two.
