Weekly over-18s stand-up comedy night at The Slaughter House, produced by Laughterhouse, with a live band playing upstairs afterwards.
The Saturday Comedy Show is on at The Slaughter House this Saturday, 17 October, from 20:00 to 22:30. It's a live stand-up night in the basement of the pub on Fenwick Street, and it's one of those spots that's become a bit of a fixture on the Liverpool comedy circuit. The room is tucked away below the pub, so it's an intimate space where you're close to the stage.
Over the years, it's been a stop for names like John Bishop, Alan Carr and Sarah Millican, and the Saturday night slot is generally the one to keep an eye on. The nights are produced by Laughterhouse, who've been putting on sold-out comedy in the city for more than a decade. They book a mix of established stand-up artists and the latest up-and-comers, so you'll usually get a blend of comics who've been around the block and newer faces working their way up.
One thing to keep in mind is that the comedy is for over-18s only, and they may ask for ID at the door. When the stand-up finishes, there's a live band playing upstairs with plenty of space for dancing, so it's easy to keep the night going after the last act has had their say.
