A sober cosmic dance-off and sensory sound-bath night with soulful beats, live vocals, percussion and guided movement under the Palm House roof.
Movers n Soul Shakers comes to the Sefton Park Palm House on Wednesday 4 November, from 6pm to 9pm. It's a sober cosmic dance-off and sensory sound-bath experience, presented by Geniene Azalea, and it's built around four phases: The Ember, The Spark, The Fire and The Glow.
The night pairs soulful beats, live vocals and percussion with guided somatic movement, and closes with hypnotic sound-bath sessions under the Palm House roof, where the plants form part of the experience. The line-up brings together Ibiza's Nell Shakespeare and Liverpool legend Andy Carroll, one of the original Cream founders and a huge figure in the city's clubbing history, with nights at The State, Quadrant Park, Amnesia, Manumission, Space and Pike behind him. Jake leads the meditation, breathwork and free-form movement, and Genie and Oranga take the closing sound-bath sessions.
Movers n Soul Shakers is a sober event, and the organisers describe it as a cosmic dance-off that needs no stimulants to do the trick. Geniene Azalea has turned the project into a community interest company, driven by the desire to make it accessible to all through part-funded prices.
