Interactive theatrical cocktail experience set in 1904 American West, where guests play outlaws and get bespoke cocktails at Moonshine Saloon.
Moonshine Saloon is running its immersive cocktail experience in Liverpool, a theatrical night that puts you right in the middle of the action rather than just sitting at a bar. It's set in 1904 in the rugged American West town of Cold Water, and the whole thing is built around a story: you're cast as an outlaw drawn into Clyde Cassidy's secret liquor operation.
It starts with you visiting the local tailor to get your outlaw gear and a Stetson, and from there you're fully in character. You hand over your own smuggled spirits to the barkeepers, who stir them into bespoke cocktails with syrups and bitters. Once the drinks are sorted, the room opens up to dice and card games with the locals, a visit to the general store, and for the lucky few, a look inside the secret Moonshine Distillery. All the while, you've got to keep a sharp eye out for the town's Sheriff, who's on the prowl for outlaws like you.
The whole thing takes about an hour and 45 minutes, so it's more of an evening out than a quick drink. It's for ages 18 and over, and the whole setup is inspired by a hit TV show, which explains the strong Western theme. It runs Wednesday to Sunday, year round, with start times that vary by day, so you've got plenty of options for when to book it.

It's £110 for two, and since it's an immersive experience, you're paying for the costumes, the drinks, and the acting as much as the cocktails themselves. If you're after a night that's a bit more than just sitting in a pub, this is a good shout.
