Musical performance celebrating Liverpudlian icons held at Liverpool Town Hall.
Liverpudlian Icons & Airwaves is on at Liverpool Town Hall on Thursday 29 October, a musical performance celebrating the city's icons. It's a one-night thing, so if you're going to catch it, you'll need to make it work for that date.
While the performance itself is the main draw, there's a self-guided audio tour running alongside it through the AudaTours app. It's not a guided group walk, so you take it at your own pace. The route covers about 3.2 kilometres (2.0 miles) across the city centre and takes around an hour and 23 minutes, with stops at 15 landmarks. There's up to 38 minutes of narration, recorded by local guides and drawn from verified historical sources.
The tour unpicks the scandals, rebellion and lost legends behind sites like St George's Hall and the Royal Court Theatre, and it also gets into the art-world controversy that caught up with Superlambanana. Because it's an audio walk, you can stop and linger where you like rather than keeping pace with a group.
