After-dark Halloween walking tour through the sinister side of Liverpool, led by a local guide, for ages 17 and over.
The Dark Side Walking Tour returns to St George's Hall on Friday 30 October, its third year running as an after-dark Halloween tour through the sinister side of Liverpool. It's led by a lively local guide, and the route takes in some of the city's darker corners rather than the usual tourist stops.
The tour starts at St George's Hall, which was once the site of brutal trials, and from there it works its way through the city's grim history. You'll hear about the Main Bridewell Prison and the Covent Garden murder of Elizabeth McDermott, and you'll visit the site of Liverpool's last public hanging on Water Street. The tales of the Black Widow Sisters are also on the list. It's a proper walk through the city's underbelly, and having a guide to lead the way makes it a bit easier to take in the stories without getting lost in the dark.
