Annual 5K festive fun run around Liverpool city centre, with thousands of local 'scouse Santas' running in aid of Mersey Cares and Claire House Children's Hospice.
The BTR Liverpool Santa Dash is back on Sunday 6 December 2026, with thousands of Scouse Santas taking to the streets of the city centre. It's a 5K fun run that starts at the waterfront by the Liver Building on Canada Boulevard, and from there it winds its way through the heart of town. If you've never seen it, the sight of a sea of red suits moving through the city is one of the more recognisable parts of the festive season here.
It's run in aid of Mersey Cares, and Claire House Children's Hospice describes it as one of the world's biggest festive fun runs. Because it's a fun run rather than a competitive race, it's as much about the atmosphere as the distance, and you'll find people of all ages and abilities taking part. If you're signing up through Mersey Cares, you get fundraising support like social media assets and tips to help you raise money. If you run for Claire House, there's an official after party to look forward to, and you can even run as the Claire Bear mascot.
