Liverpool Basketball welcome the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks to the M&S Bank Arena on Sunday 15 November, one of their first home games of the season. It's a Super League Basketball clash that pits two proud northern sporting cities against each other, and it's a chance to see the league live on Liverpool's home court.
This is a big one for the city: Liverpool Basketball are the new side in town, playing their inaugural season at the M&S Bank Arena. The 2026-27 Super League Basketball season has expanded to ten teams, and Liverpool are one of them. On the other side of the court are the Sharks, one of the most established names in British basketball, who've competed at the top level for more than three decades and lifted the Super League Basketball Cup in the 2024/25 season.
There's a bit of context to keep in mind for the season ahead. All ten teams take part in the Super League Basketball Cup, and the Sharks have a bye straight into the quarter-final after finishing in the top six in 2025-26. The league's play-off format has also changed: only the top six seeds progress, with the final held again at The O2 in London on Sunday 16 May 2027. If you're thinking of committing for the long haul, season tickets include an authentic team jersey, and holders get the opening home game against the Newcastle Eagles for free.
