Spoken-word and music show by Joshua Idehen, the British-born Nigerian artist behind the poetry on The Comet Is Coming and Black Star Linen albums.
Joshua Idehen plays the Arts Club - Loft on Thursday 12 November. He's a British-born Nigerian spoken-word artist and musician who's based in Sweden, and this is a headline show with him as the sole feature of the night.
If his name doesn't ring a bell, you've likely heard his voice on other people's records. He's contributed poems to Mercury-nominated albums, including Channel The Spirits by The Comet Is Coming and Your Queen Is A Reptile, and he's on the Mobo-winning The Line of Best Fit by Black Star Linen. That's the context he brings to the stage: a spoken-word writer who's spent a good deal of his career working inside the records of other artists, and here he's the one taking the lead.

It's a straightforward bill — just Idehen on the bill — so the evening centres on his voice and his writing. The Arts Club is on Seel Street in the city centre, and the Loft is the upstairs space. Tickets are £27.37.
