Jacob Hawley - Fighting Age Man

Jacob Hawley brings his show Fighting Age Man to Blackstock Market on Saturday 28 November, with the set starting at 19:00. It's a solo stand-up night, so it's just him on stage for the full run.

As for what that actually looks like, Hawley describes the show as a mix of blistering stand-up, questionable opinions and personal stories. That's a fair bit to fit into one set — the sharp, fast-paced delivery of the stand-up, the more provocative takes, and the storytelling that comes from his own life. The title Fighting Age Man sits right in the middle of that, and the three elements run through the whole thing rather than taking turns.

The night is hosted by Hot Water Comedy Club, which runs its room inside Blackstock Market. If you've been before, you'll know the setup: the club is tucked into the market, so you're in a dedicated comedy space rather than a general venue hall. It's a good spot for a solo show like this, where the focus stays on the performer and the room stays tight.

Tickets start from £19.00, and the show kicks off at 19:00 on Saturday 28 November at Hot Water Comedy Club at Blackstock Market, 17 Blackstock Street, Liverpool L3 6ER.
