Stage adaptation of Frank Capra's 1946 Christmas film, directed by Alex King and produced by Old Fruit Jar Productions, at Liverpool's Royal Court.
It's A Wonderful Life returns to The Studio at Liverpool's Royal Court on 12 November, running through to 28 November. It's a stage adaptation of Frank Capra's 1946 film, and this is its third run at the Royal Court, so it's become a bit of a fixture here around the lead-up to Christmas.
The story follows George Bailey, a down-on-his-luck banker who, on Christmas Eve, is shown by his impish guardian angel Clarence what his hometown would be like without him and the good deeds he's done. It's the same plot as the original film, and that film has stayed one of the most enduring Christmas traditions, so you'll know the general shape of it even if you've never seen the movie. This version is written by Mary Elliott Nelson and directed by Alex King, produced by Old Fruit Jar Productions together with Liverpool's Royal Court.
