Live recording of Hot Water Comedy Club's weekly Green Room Podcast, hosted by stand-ups Tony Carroll and Jamie Hutchinson.
The Green Room Podcast is back at Hot Water Comedy Club on Friday 23 October, starting at 20:00. It's the club's weekly live show, and the one they call the room where all the magic happens. The whole thing is set up as an immersive podcast listening experience, so you're in the room watching the hosts' on-stage moments in person rather than just hearing them through headphones later.
This one is hosted by Tony Carroll and Jamie Hutchinson, who both draw on their own stand-up experience to run the night. They're the ones steering the conversation and keeping the room moving, and they've both spent plenty of time on stage themselves.
If you're not familiar with the venue, Hot Water Comedy Club is based here in Liverpool and is widely regarded as the UK's best comedy promoter and club, with three award-winning, purpose-built spaces. It was started in 2010 by brothers Paul and Binty Blair and has launched the careers of many comedians, including resident MC Paul Smith, who's grown into one of the most popular in the UK. The club's Sunday night new act show is what got it all going, and its 'Wally Water' logo has become one of the most recognisable comedy logos in the country and beyond.
