A night of queer short films, filmmaker panel and Q&A, and informal mixer with local creatives, part of the Homotopia festival.
Film Hub North brings In The Mix to FACT on Wednesday 28 October, a touring short film night that pulls together bold stories from Northern filmmakers with a focus on queer cinema. They describe the selection as funny, tender, messy, provocative, frightening and deeply human, and the night pairs that curated run of shorts with a filmmaker panel and Q&A. After the films, there's an informal mixer in the Picturehouse Bar where you can meet the people behind the work and connect with other local creatives.
Every film on the bill is backed by the BFI NETWORK England Short Film Fund, and the whole series is supported by BFI NETWORK and National Lottery funding. In Liverpool, the night is part of Homotopia, the city's home for unapologetically queer arts, culture and activism since 2004, whose 2026 festival runs from 17 October to 1 December. So In The Mix sits right in the middle of that wider programme.
