All-day daytime party of emo, pop-punk and alternative anthems, with singalongs, organised by DAY PARTY UK.
Elder Emo Day Party comes to Hangar 34 on Saturday 7 November, a daytime celebration of the emo, pop-punk and alternative scene. It's an all-day affair, so you're in and out while it's still light, rather than a late one that keeps you up until the early hours. The whole thing is put on by DAY PARTY UK, and this is their Liverpool edition.
The music is built around the heartbreak anthems and nostalgic bangers that defined the era. The set draws from a canon of bands like My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Avril Lavigne, Blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, All Time Low and Green Day. If you spent your teenage years with those on repeat, you'll recognise the songs. The format is non-stop anthems and scream-along singalongs, so it's as much about singing as it is about listening.
It's aimed squarely at 'elder emos' — the crowd who grew up with these bands and still know every word. The organisers encourage turning up in Vans and Converse, a nod to the look that went along with the music. The whole thing is a day party with an emo twist, so you can get your fix of the scene and still be home for dinner.
