Tribute show to Dusty Springfield staged by Lareena Mitchell, with a Bentley Afternoon Tea and sing-along of Springfield classics.
Lareena Mitchell is taking on the songs of Dusty Springfield at The Bentley on Sunday 14 February 2027. It's a tribute to one of Britain's most iconic female performers, and Mitchell is the one on stage, bringing the powerhouse vocals and presence needed to carry Springfield's classics. If you know Dusty's work, you'll recognise the songs she's working through.
The set is built around the big ones. You'll hear 'Son of a Preacher Man', 'I Only Want to Be with You', 'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me', 'Wishin' and Hopin'', 'The Look of Love' and 'I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself'. It's a sing-along sort of afternoon, with the room settling into those favourites as the show goes on. Mitchell takes the lead on all of them, so the whole thing rests on her voice.
It's not just the music, though. When you arrive, you're handed a glass of Prosecco and served a Bentley Afternoon Tea, so you've got a drink and a proper spread to work through before the singing starts. It's a bit of a double-bill in that sense: the tea and the tribute together in one afternoon.
