Black-tie, red-carpet awards evening hosted by the Liverpool Social Care Partnership to recognise social care workers and carers across Merseyside.
The Caring for Care Awards are coming to Delta Hotels Liverpool City Centre on Friday 6 November, starting at 6pm. It's a black-tie, red-carpet evening run by the Liverpool Social Care Partnership (LSCP) CIC, a values-led social enterprise that works with social care providers, service users and carers across Merseyside, providing training, information and support. The awards are one of their regular fixtures, and they frame the whole night as a thank you to social care workers and carers, who they say don't get enough recognition.
There are plenty of categories to cover the different sides of the work. You've got Best Newcomer to Social Care Work, Social Care Worker of the Year — with separate awards for Employer Choice and Service User Choice — and Care Leader of the Year. There's also the Most Effective Team Award, the Hidden Light Award, and an award for Digital or Care Innovation. The biggest one of the lot is the Mikaela Williams-Brown Award for Lifetime Achievement in Social Care. Judging the entries are Helen Scholefield, Melanie Weatherley MBE, Jack Mantosh Das, Katie Thorn and Susan Perry, and radio presenter Leanne Campbell will be on the night as MC.
It's a full evening rather than just a quick ceremony. It kicks off with welcome drinks, followed by a three-course sit-down meal with wine on the table, the awards themselves, and a dancefloor to keep things going afterwards. Everyone who attends gets a goodie bag to take home. The LSCP does more than just the awards, too: they host a range of events throughout the year for registered managers and care leaders, run the NW Cyber Digi-Tech Network, which aims to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and their use in care, and put on a free Social Care Job Fair.
