Guided breathwork and sound bath session led by Maureen Gildea to help release stress and anxiety.
Maureen Gildea is running a breathwork and sound bath session at Sir Ken Dodd Happiness Hall on Wednesday 25 November, from 7:00 to 8:00pm. It's under her Maureen Gildea Therapies & Wellbeing banner, and it's one of those mid-week evening things that's more about winding down than building up.
The session works in two halves. First comes the guided breathwork, which is used to release tension and stress. After that, it moves into a sound bathโa wash of sound and vibration that's meant to settle the mind and body. Gildea describes the experience as a way to alleviate stress and anxiety, improve sleep, offer natural pain relief and help regulate the nervous system. The hall's acoustics are said to amplify the sound, frequency and vibration of the instruments, so the room itself does a fair bit of the heavy lifting.
You'll need to bring your own kit: a mat, a blanket, a cushion or pillow, an eye sleep mask and some water. It's the kind of thing where you want to be as comfortable as possible, so don't skimp on the padding. The hall is in Knotty Ash, at Sir Ken Dodd Happiness Hall on Thomas Lane, L14 5NR.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind. Doors close at 7:00pm and reopen at 8:00pm, so arriving before 6:55pm is advised if you want to get settled before it starts. The session isn't suitable for anyone with epilepsy, sound sensitivity or who's in their first trimester of pregnancy, and tickets are non-refundable.
