Stand-up show by Al Murray, the 'Pub Landlord', bringing his 'Common Sense' to the Liverpool Empire after a UK tour.
Al Murray brings his latest show, All You Need Is Guv, to the Liverpool Empire on Sunday 2 May 2027. If the name doesn't ring a bell, the character will: he's the globe's favourite Pub Landlord, one of the most recognisable comics in the country.
Murray has been honing this alter-ego since the 1994 Edinburgh Festival, and it's a character that's since starred in numerous television and tour appearances, with four books to match. He bills himself as the 'people's man of the people', and the set follows his usual form: signature 'Common Sense' hot-takes on the state of the country, rounded off with a pint of his own 'Common Sense' for the audience and a good deal of ancient pub wisdom as a balm. It's the Landlord as you'd expect him, leaning into the persona that's kept him on stage for over three decades.

The Liverpool date comes after a sell-out 138-date tour of the UK, so by the time he reaches the Empire, the material will have been road-tested across the country. It's a Sunday night show, and the venue is the Liverpool Empire Theatre.
