Cookbook and tasting menu experience led by chef Andrew Sheridan at 8 Kitchen, where diners watch the meal being created in front of them.
8 Kitchen is running its kitchen table experience at restaurant 8 in Liverpool, and it's a bit different from your usual night out. Instead of sitting in the dining room, you and a guest take a seat right in the heart of the kitchen, where you watch your tasting menu being put together in front of you by Andrew Sheridan's team of chefs. It's about three hours from start to finish, so it's a proper evening rather than a quick meal.
Sheridan is the name behind it, a Great British Menu chef who first made his mark on the BBC as a maverick whose dishes are meant to bring back nostalgic memories. His restaurant, 8, is recognised by Michelin, the AA, and international publications, and it's considered to be in the top 10% of restaurants in the UK. It holds three AA Rosettes, has won the British Restaurant Awards, and has been named best restaurant in Liverpool.

Booking works a specific way: slots are available Wednesday to Saturday at 19:00, with a Saturday lunch option at 12:30. If you go on a Friday or Saturday evening, there's a £15 supplement per person charged by the restaurant. The experience is sold as a gift voucher for £215, which you've got 12 months to book in, and a 12.5% service charge is added to the final bill. The tasting menu is for two, and it comes with a cookbook to take home.
