Sketch comedy show of monologues and sketches written by Yorkshire REP Company's Creative Director, Megan Parkinson.
Yorkshire REP Company bring their sketch show Sketchers to Seven Arts Centre on Saturday 28 November, with the curtain going up at 7:30pm. It's a night of monologues and sketches, and the whole thing is written by the company's own Creative Director, Megan Parkinson.
That's the bit that sets it apart from a typical sketch night: rather than a mixed bag of writers, the material all comes from one person. Parkinson's monologues and sketches are what make up the show, and the company brings them to life on stage. It's a good way to see how a single writer's voice carries across different characters and scenes, rather than jumping between completely different styles every few minutes.
As for the company itself, Yorkshire REP Company is the name behind the production, and Parkinson is their Creative Director, so this is a project coming from within their own ranks. The show is called Sketchers, and it's exactly what it sounds like — a collection of sketches and monologues performed by the company.
