Monthly woodland meet-up for women to mark Samhain with breath, movement, meditation, stories and oracle cards.
Woodland Sanctuary is holding its Samhain gathering on Saturday 31 October, at Thornhill Drive, Calverley, Leeds, LS28 5QW, near Calverley Primary School. It's part of a monthly woodland meet-up for women to come together and ground themselves in nature, with each session focusing on a different point of the wheel of the year. This one marks Samhain, the traditional Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest and the onset of winter.
Over the course of the morning, the group works through breath, movement, meditation, stories and oracle cards, each one tied to the season. It's a slow-paced way to spend a Saturday morning, and because it's a monthly thing, you can drop in for this one without having been to the others. The gathering is open to children too, so it's not just for adults. A seasonal drink is served on the day, and you'll need to bring your own mat or blanket to sit on.
Two people lead the sessions: Nicola, a Naturopath and Women's Wellness Specialist, and Maddie, a PSYCH-K Facilitator and Shamanic Healing Practitioner. They bring different backgrounds to the table, with Nicola coming from a naturopathic and wellness perspective and Maddie working with PSYCH-K and shamanic healing. Together they guide the morning's activities, from the movement and meditation through to the stories and oracle cards.
