Hands-on willow weaving workshop by Wild Bloom Design to make natural willow angels and festive stars decorated with seasonal foliage.
Wild Bloom Design are running a willow weaving workshop at Chapel Allerton Methodist Church on Thursday 3 December, from 6pm to 9.30pm. It's a hands-on session where you'll make two things: a natural willow angel and a festive star, both decorated with seasonal foliage. The whole thing is pitched as a relaxed, friendly evening, and it's aimed at beginners and people with a bit of experience alike, so you don't need to have ever touched a willow rod before to get stuck in.
Willow weaving is one of those old-school skills that feels right this time of year, and the two things you make—the angel and the star—are the kind of decorations you can keep and bring out again each Christmas. The session is run by Wild Bloom Design, and they describe it as a fun, easy-going experience, so it's more about the process of making than about getting everything perfect. You'll spend the evening working through the weaving, adding the foliage, and ending up with a couple of handmade pieces for your home.
