Workshop with Soremi Jewellery to make a wide band textured silver ring.
Soremi Jewellery are running a wide band textured silver ring making workshop in Leeds on Saturday 24 October. It's a one-day session where you make a silver ring from scratch, and you leave with the finished piece on your finger.
The focus here is on a wide band, so it's a more substantial ring than your average thin band. The 'textured' part comes from the work you put into the surface of the silver, rather than leaving it smooth and polished. You'll be working with sterling silver, and the session is led by Soremi Jewellery, who run these as hands-on workshops rather than just demonstrations.
If you've never worked with metal before, that's fine — the whole point is to get your hands on the tools and see how a piece of jewellery actually comes together. You'll go through the process of shaping the band, adding the texture, and finishing it off, with the guidance of the Soremi team on hand to help you through the trickier bits. It's a good way to spend a Saturday if you've always wanted to try jewellery making without having to buy your own kit first.
