Comedy show that pays homage to Victoria Wood, with songs from The Victoria Wood Songbook, directed by Sarah-Louise Young.
What Wood Victoria Do? comes to The Old Woollen in Farsley on Sunday 18 October, a brand-new show from the creators behind Looking For Me Friend. It's a comedy theatre piece that takes an even deeper dive into the world of Victoria Wood than its predecessor, and it's directed by Sarah-Louise Young.
At its heart, the show celebrates women who don't mince their words, navigating friendship and loss amongst tea towels and village halls. It's that specific kind of Wood territory — the domestic, the slightly frayed, and the fiercely funny. Along with the sketches, there's a fresh batch of tunes from The Victoria Wood Songbook, so it's as much about the music as the comedy. Critics have described it as finding the sweet spot where homage turns into truly honouring the hero, and Kate Copstick called the tribute practically a national institution.
