Charity boxing show for complete beginners, with eight weeks of free training at Bad Company Gym in Bramley before the professional bout.
Ultra White Collar Boxing is back at the Royal Armouries on Saturday 21 November, another exhibition of white collar boxing in Leeds. The whole thing is built for complete beginners with no boxing background, so it's a way to get into the ring without having to be a seasoned pro first. The training is a big part of it: you get eight weeks of free boxing coaching, worth £300, and then you box an evenly matched opponent at a professional, regulated show in front of friends and family, wearing 16oz gloves and head guards. The training itself runs as two evening sessions a week at Bad Company Gym in Bramley, so you're in the gym twice a week before the night arrives.
It's a charity-driven setup, and that's where the fundraising comes in. The organisers suggest a minimum of £50 in charity donations, and boxers are also expected to sell tickets to friends. It's a model that's worked on a fair scale: the initiative has raised more than £706,000 in total so far. The focus is on the experience of training and competing rather than the result, and the matching ensures you're facing someone at your own level.

The show takes place at the Royal Armouries, Armouries Dr, Leeds, LS10 1LT. If you've never done it before, the eight weeks of free training is the starting point, and the night itself is the culmination of that work.
