A high-energy live show with a full brass section celebrating the ska sound of 2Tone, with hits from Madness, The Specials and The Selecter.
Too Much Too Young: The Music of 2Tone and Beyond! comes to City Varieties Music Hall on Thursday 13 May 2027, starting at 7:30pm. It's a two-hour show, including an interval, presented by H3 Live Limited. The whole thing is a celebration of the ska sound that shaped generations, tracing its roots from Jamaica to the explosive British revival of the late 1970s and 80s.
On stage, a powerhouse live band with a full brass section is backed by a dynamic cast and digital visuals to bring the era to life. The set draws on hits from Madness, The Specials, The Beat, Bad Manners, The Selecter and more, so you'll hear the names that defined the 2Tone scene. It's billed as the only show endorsed by Lynval Golding of The Specials and Neol Davies of The Selecter, two of the original figures from the movement the show is built around.
