The Veils, fronted by Finn Andrews, play Brudenell Social Club in Leeds with support from Anthonie Tonnon.
The Veils play Brudenell Social Club on Thursday 3 December, with Anthonie Tonnon opening. It's a Brudenell Presents night, so the club is putting it on themselves.
For anyone who hasn't followed them, the band has been fronted by Finn Andrews since they signed to Rough Trade when he was sixteen. They've put out eight studio albums over the years: The Runaway Found (2004), Nux Vomica (2006), Sun Gangs (2009), Time Stays, We Go (2013), Total Depravity (2016), ...And Out Of The Void Came Love (2023), Asphodels (2025), and their latest, Fragile World (2026). That's more than two decades of recording behind them, so there's plenty to draw from for a single set.
Fragile World is the one they're touring now. It was recorded live to tape in New Zealand by Paddy Hill and produced by Tom Healy, with Andrews and Healy playing most of the instruments alongside Joseph McCallum. That live-to-tape approach means the record keeps the energy of a room rather than being built piece by piece in a studio, and that's exactly the kind of thing that translates well to a gig.

They've worked with some big names along the way, too. Total Depravity saw them collaborating with El-P from Run the Jewels, and their music has ended up on soundtracks by Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton and David Lynch. Between the new material and the older records, there's a fair bit of ground to cover in one night.
Doors are at 19:30, and tickets are £20 in advance.
