Punk and new wave band The Rezillos play The Old Woollen in Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley, Leeds.
The Rezillos play The Old Woollen on Saturday 31 October, with the show starting at 20:00. It's a punk/new wave night in Farsley, presented by AGMP Concerts.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, the band started in Edinburgh in 1976. Their debut single, 'I Can't Stand My Baby', brought them underground fame after it got airplay on John Peel's BBC Radio 1 show. From there came a run of singles that became critical milestones: 'My Baby Does Good Sculptures', 'Top of the Pops' and 'Destination Venus'. They recorded their landmark album, Can't Stand the Rezillos, at New York's Power Station studio and even played a gig at CBGB's, the hub of punk rock. The record reached the top 10 of the UK album chart and is still held up as a punk classic.
