Live gig by The Lancashire Hotpots on their Hotpotmania Tour, with support from Josh Gibbons, at the Brudenell Social Club.
The Lancashire Hotpots play Brudenell Social Club on Saturday 7 November, as part of their Hotpotmania Tour. They're supported by Josh Gibbons, and the night is put on by LiveNow Promotions and GS Promotions.
If you've never come across them, the Hotpots call themselves 'the people's champions' and build their set around music and mirth. Bernard and the boys run through the fan favourites that have made them a name: 'Egg Sausage Chips & Beans', 'Has The Bin Man Bin Mon?', 'Chippy Tea' and 'The Perfect Pint'. It's the kind of gig where the songs are as much about the lyrics as the tune, and they've picked up praise along the way from Jason Manford, Romesh Ranganathan on BBC Radio 2, Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music and Skiddle.com.
They're playing at the Brudenell, which is at 33 Queen's Rd in Headingley, LS6. The club was founded in 1913 and runs as a community, not-for-profit venue, just a few doors down from the Royal Park pub. It keeps an open music policy and stages events most nights of the week, drawn on a wide range of local promoters and genres; Franz Ferdinand, the Kaiser Chiefs and Tom Jones are among the artists who have played there. Gigs run in two rooms, the original Main Room and the Community Room added in 2017, each with a capacity of 400.
