Family science illusion show with The Magical Mr West and his corvid companion Crowbert, mixing optical illusions, baffling tricks and wordplay for the school holidays.
The Brain Bending Science Illusion Show comes to the Carriageworks Theatre on Monday 26 October, with the performance starting at 14:00 in the Main Auditorium. It's a family-friendly science show, part of the venue's school holidays programme, so it's one of those things that works just as well for kids as it does for adults.
The show is led by The Magical Mr West, who returns to the stage with his corvid companion, Crowbert. If the name sounds familiar, it's because this follows on from Adventures in Science, his previous family science show, so he's back in the same vein here. Together, he and Crowbert take the audience into the world of science illusions, mixing cognitive conundrums, mind-melting mysteries and surreal psychology with impossible optical illusions, baffling tricks to try at home and wily wordplay. It's billed as a spectacular science show for all the family, and the mix of illusions and things you can actually go home and try yourself gives it a bit more to hold onto than a standard demonstration.
