Book quiz hosted by Gary Wigglesworth, with multiple-choice questions and a 'Say What You See' picture round, as part of Farsley Lit Fest.
The Book Lover's Quiz Night comes to The Old Woollen on Sunday 1 November, part of Farsley Lit Fest and the Halloween weekend in Leeds. It's hosted by Gary Wigglesworth, a regular at the venue and the festival, and the author of The Book Lover's Quiz Book.
The night follows the same format as his books, so it's not a typical quiz. Instead of straightforward questions, you'll get multiple-choice options, amusing answers, clever red herrings and little-known facts about authors. There's also the 'Say What You See' picture round, which is a regular favourite. The whole thing is set up so you can guess your way through and still come out with a decent score even when you don't actually know the answer. That approach has earned praise from writers like Rob Delaney, David Quantick, Alan Connor and Charlie Higson.
It's a team event, and teams can be any size you like, though each player needs their own ticket. Since it falls on the Halloween weekend, it's a good one to gather a group for. The night is part of Farsley Lit Fest, so it fits in with the wider literary programme running across the area.
