Live folk and indie performance by Chicago artist Tasha at Headrow House in Leeds.
Tasha plays Headrow House on Tuesday 27 October, starting at 7:30 pm. It's a solo headline show, and the Leeds date is presented by Super Friendz, with official merchandise available on the night.
Tasha is a Chicago-born folk and indie artist whose career has picked up speed since her 2021 release Tell Me What You Miss The Most. That record earned her tour support for Nilufer Yanya and Margaret Glaspy, and in 2021 she joined the cast of Illinoise, the Tony-nominated Broadway musical that adapts Sufjan Stevens' album Illinois for the stage. Between the folk-leaning songs and the Broadway run, there's a fair bit of ground to cover in one set.
One of the tracks that's been getting a lot of attention is 'Michigan', produced by Gregory Uhlmann. It's a song that weighs the uncertainty of loss and faltering infatuation against the steadfast solidity of love and pleasure — the kind of thing that usually lands better live than it does on a record. If you've followed her since Tell Me What You Miss The Most, you'll recognise the folk and indie roots she's been working from.
