Concert by Suede and Manic Street Preachers, two British alternative rock bands, at First Direct Arena.
Suede and Manic Street Preachers share a bill at First Direct Arena on Friday 30 October, two of the bands that helped shape British alternative rock in the early nineties. They both started around the same time, and both have spent the years since building their own distinct corners of the scene.
Suede came through as pioneers of Britpop, known for their dramatic style and songs like 'Animal Nitrate', 'Trash' and 'Beautiful Ones'. The Manics built their legacy on politically charged lyrics and powerful songwriting, with hits including 'Motorcycle Emptiness', 'If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next' and 'Design for Life'. Over their careers, both have released multiple chart-topping albums, earned widespread critical acclaim and built devoted global fanbases, and are known for their live performances.
On the night, the arena is wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet, baby changing facilities and assistance dogs welcome. There's a standing floor, and anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over and isn't permitted in the standing area.
