Ten-piece band Slippery People recreates the Talking Heads concert film 'Stop Making Sense' live on stage.
Slippery People are bringing Stop Making Sense to Brudenell Social Club on Saturday 6 February 2027, as part of a wider UK tour running across 2026 and 2027. The show is a live recreation of the 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense, directed by Jonathan Demme and starring Talking Heads. It's been over forty years since that film came out, and Slippery People have spent the last couple of years putting this version on stage.
They're a ten-piece band formed in 2025, and they've built the show around playing every Talking Heads song that appears in the film. That means you'll hear 'Psycho Killer', 'Burning Down The House', and 'Once In A Lifetime' alongside the rest of the set, rather than just a handful of the best-known ones. The band has already taken the show across the UK to sell-out dates, so this Leeds stop is part of a tour that's been on the road for a while.
