Stan Smith & The North Country play an evening of home-grown Americana with special guest David Broad at the Seven Arts Centre.
Stan Smith & The North Country play Seven Arts on Friday 30 October, with David Broad joining them as special guest. It's a night of home-grown Americana built on heartfelt storytelling, soulful melodies and authentic musicianship, and Broad will be with them for the whole evening.
The band works across the many paths of American roots music, drawing on folk, country, blues and the singer-songwriter tradition. Their set sits alongside the timeless songbooks of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, James Taylor and Bruce Springsteen, so you've a good idea of the territory they cover. It's music that looks to those names for its roots, and the whole night is built around that same kind of songwriting.
David Broad joins them as special guest, and the two acts share the bill rather than playing separate sets. The music they'll be playing is rooted in those same traditions — folk, country, and the singer-songwriter style — and the whole evening is built around storytelling and soulful melodies.
