Monthly adult talk series at Leeds City Museum with a guest speaker and a different theme each time, part of the Leeds400 anniversary programme.
The Sociable History Club returns to Leeds City Museum on Friday 4 December, as part of the museum's monthly talks series for adults. Each session is built around a guest speaker and a different theme, so the subject changes every time the club meets. It's a regular fixture in the museum's calendar, with the next session following on Friday 5 March.
The club sits within Leeds400, the city's celebration of 400 years since Leeds received its first Royal Charter from King Charles I on 13 July 1626. That charter marked the beginning of the city's journey towards self-governance and city status, and the anniversary programme runs throughout the year. As part of that, Leeds Museums and Galleries puts on talks, special events and exhibitions alongside the club.

Because the club is a monthly series, it's less a one-off and more a recurring thing you can drop into whenever a particular theme catches your eye. The guest speaker and the topic change with every session, so if you're not into one, there's usually another coming along shortly after. The 4 December date is the next one in the run, with the following session on 5 March.
