Musical SIX, the hit show about the six wives of Henry VIII, comes to Leeds Grand Theatre.
SIX plays at Leeds Grand Theatre from Tuesday 3 November, running through to Saturday 7 November. It's a pop concert in disguise: the six wives of Henry VIII step out of the history books and onto the stage as pop princesses, each taking the mic to tell her own side of the story. They remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute show, backed by an all-female band. It's a celebration of sisterhood, sass and survival, and it runs for one hour and twenty minutes with no interval, so you're in and out in a single stretch.
It's a well-travelled production, with 26 major international awards to its name, including the Tony for Best Original Score and Best Costume Design. It's also a double winner of the WhatsOnStage Award for Best West End Show, and the album picked up a Gold Disc. The reviews have been warm: the Evening Standard called it 'the most uplifting new British musical I have ever had the privilege to watch', the Express described it as 'exhilarating entertainment from six killer Queens', and the Telegraph called it 'a royal treat'.
