Drop-in half-term session at Leeds City Museum to draw with shadows, play with a mini shadow puppet theatre and make a light-up owl backdrop.
Shadow Art runs at Leeds City Museum on Tuesday 27, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October, with two sessions a day: 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00. It's one of the sessions in the museum's October Half-Term: Glow In The Dark Week, which runs from 24 October to 1 November.
The setup is simple: you drop into the museum's main hall to draw with shadows and play with a mini shadow puppet theatre, experimenting with light and torches to create artistic effects. Neon and bright-coloured clothing are encouraged, so it's worth digging out anything fluorescent before you head in. During the sessions, you'll also help build a giant landscape backdrop for owls that light up during Light Night, and find out which creatures glow under UV light.

It's a drop-in session, so there's no booking required—you just turn up when it suits you. A parent has to stay, though, so it's one for you to do with the kids rather than something to drop them off for. The museum is a Give What You Can venue, and the activity is free to join. You'll find it at Leeds City Museum, Millennium Square, Leeds LS2 8BH, on Tuesday 27, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October, 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00.
