Drop-in family craft sessions for children aged five and over, held on Saturdays at Leeds City Museum.
Rory's Saturday Club is back at Leeds City Museum tomorrow, Saturday 17 October, as part of the museum's regular family programme. It's a drop-in craft workshop for children aged five and over, so you don't need to book ahead—just turn up with the kids and get stuck in. The session runs from 11am to 12.15pm, which fits nicely into a Saturday morning without taking up the whole day.
If you haven't spent much time there, the museum sits right in the heart of the city and is built around things you can actually do rather than just look at. It's a previous winner of the national Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award, and that comes through in the hands-on exhibits, the mini dig zones, the Voices of Asia gallery, and Toddler Town for the very young. There's also the Herbarium Café serving children's food, and the Preservative Party—a group of young curators who help shape the museum's spaces.

Because it's a drop-in, you can roll in whenever suits you between 11am and 12.15pm, and the craft is aimed at children five and up, so it's a good shout if you've got a primary-school-aged child who likes making things. The session is part of the museum's wider family offering, so you can easily make a morning of it and wander through the other galleries before or after. It runs on Saturday mornings, 11am to 12.15pm, at Leeds City Museum.
