Canal boat cruise on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal with a roast dinner and a licensed bar.
Skipton Boat Trips are running a roast dinner cruise from Coach St, Leeds on Tuesday 10 November, combining a meal on the water with a trip through the Yorkshire countryside. The boat sets off from the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, which is the longest canal in Britain at 127 miles and dates back to 1816, when it was built to carry coal, stone, cloth and other cargo. It's a waterway that's seen plenty of history, and this trip takes you along a stretch of it that's usually only seen from the towpath.
While the boat is moving, you'll be served authentic pan-South Asian cuisine by Pitra Waterfront, and there's a licensed bar on board if you fancy a drink with your meal. The combination of the food and the changing scenery makes it more of a full afternoon or evening out than a quick bite. The cruise is run by Skipton Boat Trips, a company that's been hiring canal boats on this waterway for more than 30 years and offers both guided trips and the chance to be your own skipper.
