Guided reflective walks led by Brahma Kumaris at Kirkstall Abbey, with a taster of Raja Yoga meditation, on Wednesdays in December.
Reflective Walks run every Wednesday morning at Kirkstall Abbey, from 30 September through to 16 December 2026. They're led by Brahma Kumaris, who run them in association with the Abbey as a way to get some fresh air and a taster of Raja Yoga meditation while reflecting on the qualities we all have inside us.
The walks are part of the Leeds Mindfulness Festival, the city's 11th annual festival, which returns to Abbey House Museum and Kirkstall Abbey around World Mental Health Day with mindful activities for adults. The Abbey itself is one of the most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey in Britain, set in parkland along the banks of the River Aire. Its Visitor Centre tells the story of the 12th-century monks and houses the touch table, a unique catalogue of images of the abbey from the 18th century to the present day.

The site now works as a Give What You Can museum, inviting visitors to donate through Tap to Give points. The walks run from 10:30 to 11:30 on Wednesdays, and they're included in entry to the Abbey, which suggests a donation of £5. There's no booking needed: just meet at the desk in the Visitor Centre.
