Penelope Isles / Attic O Matic

Penelope Isles play Hyde Park Book Club on Thursday 29 October, with support from Attic O Matic. It's their first show in three years, and they're returning as a true three-piece with drummer Joe Taylor back in the fold.

Since they last played, the Wolter siblings have put out two solo records, so there's a fair bit of new ground to cover. They describe their songs as fuzz-drenched and melody-rich, written around love, heartbreak and what lingers after — rooted in Brighton seafront flats and off-kilter restaurants. With Joe Taylor back on drums, the set should pull those songs back into a full band sound.

The night is presented by Brudenell Presents, and the venue has a capacity of 150, so it's a relatively small room. The show is for ages 14 and over, with under-18s accompanied by an adult. General admission is £17 including fees, and it starts at 7:30 pm at Hyde Park Book Club, 27-29 Headingley Lane, Leeds LS6 1BL.
