Live gig by New York songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nick Hakim with guests at the Brudenell Social Club.
Nick Hakim plays Brudenell Social Club on Tuesday 3 November, with doors opening at 19:30. He'll be joined by guests, and the night is promoted by Brudenell Presents.
Hakim is a New York-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who describes himself as sitting somewhere between an analytical philosopher, a mystic poet and an abstract painter, devoted to music as both an ancient artform and an eternal one. His discography stretches back to the early LPs Green Twins (2017) and Will This Make Me Good (2020), followed by 2022's Cometa and the album I Can See, which he recorded during the pandemic in sessions split between Sonic Ranch in Texas and his New York apartment. The album closer, 'Water', is a piano ballad he wrote after getting out of a long relationship.
With those four records behind him, the set should draw from a fair bit of ground. Green Twins and Will This Make Me Good mark the early years, Cometa came in 2022, and I Can See is the most recent, born out of those pandemic sessions in Texas and New York. 'Water' sits at the end of that one, a piano ballad written after a long relationship ended.
